Anthony Carbone | My Barnum Experience

Before joining the AdvisorScholar program, I was looking for a company that genuinely cared about its people and was invested in their success. Barnum showed me that this is exactly what they stand for, and how they surround you with the right people to help you grow.

Last summer, I participated in the AdvisorScholar internship program alongside the Fire Island Advisory team. During my internship, I gained valuable knowledge by taking part in educational sessions covering the different aspects of being a financial advisor, including insurance and annuity products, marketing strategies, and personal finance principles.

These sessions were a great opportunity to learn about the tools advisors use with clients, as well as how Barnum Financial Group supports its advisors. We also completed projects to apply what we had learned alongside our mentors and fellow interns, and I had multiple opportunities to shadow my mentors' meetings to better understand how they worked with different clients.

After a very impactful summer program, I followed through with the next steps to join the Winter Associate Program, where I was able to gain more hands-on experience. During this program, I spent more valuable time with my team and had the opportunity to actually start getting on the phone with clients.

I’m really looking forward to continuing to learn from my team as I build my career with Barnum, and I’m also very excited for the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives, helping them reach their financial goals while working toward my own. Anthony Carbone
